Founded in 2001 by Atlanta based author and Emmy Award winning poet, Hank Stewart, The White Linen Affair has grown to become a monumental event, drawing droves of attendees from all walks of life. Each year, a variety of activities are offered, including charity walks, pampering sessions, children's ventures, live concerts, book signings, chat sessions, poetry jams, old school parties, etc., adding to the affair's popularity and the resulting applause.
Striving to make each year more memorable than the one before it, Hank Stewart, his sponsors and supporters promise that 2008 would be the best year yet. By popular demand and to accomodate all of the events scheduled, this year's celebration will stretch beyond the normal one-day affair. The year 2008 will bring to Atlanta, 40-hours of celebration, beginning Friday, July 25th and concluding on the morning of Sunday, July 27th. A variety of education, enlightening and entertaining goings-on will be available for registrants to take part in. The list of scheduled offerings include concerts, panel discussions, literary cafe', book signings, photo opportunities, pampering sessions, old school party, boat rides with live entertainment, step (dance) classes, events especially for children and more!
